Decades of declining educational standards and a coarsening culture have gotten the American electorate the politicians they deserve. Can you imagine Eugene McCarthy even with his anti-war stance being taken seriously today? I think he'd be laughed off the stage. Safer to take the pseudo-intellectual rantings of today's elite.<BR/><BR/>I think Sarah Palin is the type of character the producers of those Reality shows like--the competitive woman who could stir the sympathies of viewers and stand a chance of winning the race or whatever the competition calls for.
